For the first Ramadan at Chellah since its reopening, the site invites you to experience unique spiritual and culinary evenings with the Nuits Célestes program.
Each evening unfolds in two parts:
A traditional Ftour at sunset, followed by a gourmet buffet crafted by Chef Hicham Aouad.
A poetic and musical performance, where spirituality and culture intertwine beneath the stars.
Jazz at the Chellah
Every year, the European Union, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, organizes the Jazz Festival, an iconic musical event held in a historic and majestic setting, in the heart of the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Chellah, in Rabat, Morocco.
This year, the Jazz Festival will take place from 10 to 12 May 2024.

Mawazine
Mawazine in Chellah is a captivating and enriching extension of the famous International World Music Festival, Mawazine, organized by Maroc Culture in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the wilaya of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region.
This year’s International World Music Festival, Mawazine will take place from June 21 to 29, 2024.
This extension of the Mawazine Festival offers a varied artistic program, highlighting emerging talents and renowned artists from different musical backgrounds. The picturesque setting of the Roman remains of Chellah provides a mystical and timeless atmosphere, creating a magical backdrop for artistic performances.
Drone Show
As part of Rabat’s celebration as the African Capital of Culture, the Ministry of Culture orchestrated a drone show in Chellah. This captivatingly original visual and immersive experience transforms the night sky above the historic ruins of Chellah into a living artistic canvas. This innovative show skillfully blends the site’s ancient history with modern drone technologies, providing an enchanting and futuristic visual spectacle.
The symbiosis between the thousand-year-old cultural heritage and contemporary technological advances gives rise to a unique atmosphere, where the past and the future interact harmoniously in a ballet of coloured lights and coordinated aerial movements creating luminous shapes, dynamic visual tableaux and synchronized figures that restore some vestiges of Chellah.
