You can find shrubs, bushes there. Plant species include olive trees, cypresses, date palms and fig trees. There are more than 80 species.
The atmosphere that emerges illustrates the perpetual conflict between stones and nature. The abundant vegetation that tops part of the remains seems to struggle with the remains to obtain a prominent place on the site. The combination of remains and vegetation gives a timeless charm to Chellah, a source of romanticism and reflection on the work of men and their inscription in posterity, in History.
Outside the Chellah site and on the edge of the Bouregreg, a variety of aquatic plants, including reeds and rushes, grow along the banks.
